“I just don’t believe that when people are being unjustly oppressed that they should let someone else set rules for them by which they can come out from under that oppression.”

– Malcolm X

If you're like many people today, you might be looking for direction, insight, and understanding on how we can address and overcome the racism that has impacted Black individuals of all ages for generations. Perhaps you're feeling tired, as I often do, from witnessing law enforcement officers—individuals entrusted to protect us and funded by our taxes—continuing to harm Black lives without accountability.

You're probably tired of an education system that continues to deprive our black children of the education they deserve, instead preparing them for a life of imprisonment. Even the US Department of Education admits that black boys and girls are targeted for failure as early as preschool.

What about the disparities in employment, housing, and healthcare? It feels as though the world is against us, and in many ways, it is. Perhaps you're tired of seeing the same sentiment expressed on social media - "We need to stick together, get organized, and unite" - without anyone taking the first step.

If any of these concerns speak to your heart, it's time for us to come together and mobilize. We must unite to reclaim control of our lives, the education of our children, the strength of our communities, fair treatment by law enforcement, and economic empowerment. We cannot keep asking a system built to oppress us to suddenly change its ways. Waiting until injustice personally impacts us is no longer an option—we must act now. Join us today.
